Unata’s hosted solution incorporates security best practices (ISO 27001 certification, Transport Layer Security (TLS/SSL), routine automated penetration testing, remote system management, extensive logging, and internal data access policies) as defined by, and in some cases, surpassing, industry standards, providing end-to-end security & privacy while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Data & System Ownership
All servers and data contained/produced within the Unata solution are owned by the retailer. During implementation & support activities, Unata staff remotely manage these services to ensure performance and data security.
Unata’s solution employs data redundancy across multiple availability zones (e.g. East coast & West coast) to prevent system downtime in the unlikely case where servers unexpectedly become unavailable. This also allows for constant system backups & quick disaster recoveries.
Unata's flexible data consumer API is certified and built to easily integrate with the retailers’ master data and customer relation management systems (MDM & CRM), including SAP, Oracle, AS400, MS Bizktalk, and other custom solutions. Based on the existing system landscape and data flow within the retailers’ environment, the API can be accessed either directly or via an integration broker for the transfer of inbound and outbound data.
Unata’s solution delivers data to an endpoint in near real-time, requiring only an internet connection. This allows consumers to instantly receive notifications on promotions and offers, immediately accumulate loyalty points via purchases or new forms of digital interaction, while empowering retailers’ ability to analyze consumer shopping trends instantly.

Multiple instances of application & database servers provides load balancing, ensuring optimal response times during peak periods of application use.
Data required for immediate consumption (e.g. products & recommendations, current promo’s, shopping lists and store layouts) is stored in-memory, resulting in shorter response times, increased application usability, and ultimately a better consumer experience.
Unata’s analytics engine leverages real-time data feeds and the capture of pre-purchase behaviour, providing detailed insight into customers shopping trends, allowing retailers and suppliers to provide more intelligent offers and promotions.
Unata’s solution includes connectivity to Point of Sale systems; this allows for the immediate consumption of offers (coupons & points) available on customers’ smartphones that are reflected in real-time at checkout, enabling a better consumer experience and superior, targeted marketing campaigns.
