Robin Axon is a Founding General Partner at Mantella Venture Partners. Prior to founding Mantella Venture Partners, Robin was a partner at Ventures West where he was a part of the IT and communications team with a focus on wireless technology investments.Previously, Robin was at MD Robotics (formerly Spar Aerospace) and the Canadian Space Agency where he helped to prepare the Canadarm2 for installation onto the International Space Station.
Robin has served on the boards of a number of technology companies including: QuickPlay Media, RapidMind (acq. Intel ’09), AudienceView, Fortiva, Chantry Networks (acq. Siemens ’03), Belair Networks and Instrumar. Robin is a founder of CVCA’s Young Venture Capitalists (YVC) Committee.
Duncan is a Founding General Partner at Mantella Venture Partners. He currently serves on the board of Chango, SurfEasy, Brave Commerce and HipSell, and until their acquisition by Google in Apr’11 was an Executive Investor at PushLife. He previously served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Ventures West, the board of directors of RapidMind (acq Intel ’09), the advisory board of Opalis (acq Microsoft ’09). Duncan was the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Think Dynamics, a developer of data center automation software, which was acquired by IBM in May 2003.
Drew is founder, CEO and chairman of SHOP.CA, and brings over 14 years of online marketing, eCommerce and sales leadership experience to the team. Prior to founding SHOP.CA, Drew served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Vibes Media, was a member of SHOP.COM’s executive and held sales and sales leadership roles with Flonetwork, (acquired by DoubleClick) and DoubleClick (acquired by Google).
As the SVP Commercial for Aimia, Brian leverages almost 20 years' experience in building businesses and developing successful loyalty programs. Brian recently worked on the Aimia $175M acquisition of Carlson Marketing and the integration of the two loyalty businesses. Prior to this, Brian was the Managing Director of Nectar, the UK’s largest loyalty program. He was part of the founding team for this business and ran Nectar during the $755M sale of the business to Groupe Aeroplan in 2007. Earlier in his career, Brian was a consultant at Bain & Company and was part of the start-up team for the Air Miles program in Canada. Brian was born in the United States and educated in Canada. He graduated with his MBA summa cum laude from the Richard Ivey School of Business (London, Ontario) and an Honour Bachelor of Commerce from Wilfrid Laurier University (Waterloo, Ontario).
